On Friday 27th September all lovers of horror and science fiction cinema are invited to the Fanta-Party, an evening to support Fantafestival and have fun together.
The event will be held at the Ninkasi Craft Beer House, in Via Acireale 22 in Rome, starting from 8.30 pm.
This is the long list of guests that Fantafestival‘s friends will be able to meet during the evening.
Sergio Martino – Director and screenwriter, he is one of the greatest exponents of Italian genre cinema. Sergio Martino directed, among others, cult films such as Island of the Fishmen (1979), The Scorpion with Two Tails (1982) and 2019, After the Fall of New York (1983).
Gabriele Albanesi – Director, screenwriter and producer, he made his debut as an assistant director in several music videos directed by the Manetti Bros. After directing three short films, he made his cinema debut in 2006 with the splatter The Last House in the Woods, distributed in the USA by Sam Raimi.
Antonio Tentori – Also known by the pseudonym Anthony Trenton, he began his career as a screenwriter thanks to his meeting with Lucio Fulci, for whom he wrote the story of Demonia (1990) and the screenplay of Cat in the Brain (1990). He has also collaborated with Joe D’Amato, Sergio Stivaletti, Bruno Mattei and Dario Argento
Sergio Stivaletti – Italian effects artist, director and screenwriter. For over 30 years he has conceived and created characters, creatures and monsters for cinema, television and theatre, collaborating with some of the greatest Italian directors such as Dario Argento, Michele Soavi, Lamberto Bava, Roberto Benigni and Gabriele Salvatores.
Lorenzo Tomio – Composer, guitarist and sound designer; his work ranges from composing soundtracks for cinema and television, to collaborations in contemporary theatre, dance and advertising. Among others, he is the composer of the soundtracks of Dampyr by Riccardo Chemello (2022), Everything Calls for Salvation by Francesco Bruni (2022) and Piuma by Roan Johnson (2016).
Luigi Cozzi – Essayist, historian of fantastic cinema and director of cult films such as Starcrash (1978) and Hercules (1983). Luigi Cozzi is also the co-founder of Fantafestival.
All guests will participate in the Horror Talk “The fantastic cinema of yesterday and today”, moderated by Paolo Gaudio.
But that’s not all: there will also be the photographic exhibition “Ray Harryhausen & Friends”, which shows seventy years of the history of special effects, from 1933 to 1989, with rare archive images. The exhibition is curated by Pierfilippo Siena and Andrea Felice for AVFX Visual Effects Association.
Finally, to create the right atmosphere, video projections on music will accompany the entire evening, starting with two absolute classics of the genre such as Nosferatu the Vampire by Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau (1922) and Night of the Living Dead by George Romero (1968). .
The entrance cost is € 10 and it includes one free drink.
