Fantafestival’s magazines
Videodrome (1987-1989)
Videdrome, subtitled “The Fantastic in Cinema,” is a large-format magazine founded in 1986. The magazine was founded by Massimo Cucchi and Edoardo Rosati, and directed by Franco La Polla, in the wake of the fanzine Proposta SF, which had been published in a single issue in 1980. Starting with the June 1987 issue, Videodrome became the Fantafestival’s official magazine, and from that moment on it became a supplement to Primavisione Cinematografica, already a partner of the festival. The relationship with Primavisione Cinematografica lasted until July 1988, when Videodrome returned to being an independent publication and the numbering once again started from n. 1. Publication continued at least until the January-February 1989 issue. Below you can read some issues of the magazine: the collection, however, is not complete, so we invite anyone in possession of the missing issues to contact us at info@fanta-festival.it. We thank Alberto Farina, a longtime collaborator of the festival and of the magazine, for making his collection available to us.
