1. Cos’è il Fantafestival?
Il Fantafestival è un festival dedicato al cinema fantastico, che include fantascienza, horror, fantasy e i generi affini (paranormale, thriller, etc…). All’interno del Fantafestival trovano spazio, oltre a film e cortometraggi, anche serie TV e web-series, fumetti, videogiochi, iniziative editoriali, insomma tutto quanto ha a che vedere con il fantastico. Il Fantafestival è il più longevo festiva italiano dedicato al cinema fantastico e si svolge dal 1981.
2. Dove e quando si svolge?
Il Fantafestival si svolge a Roma, anche se occasionalmente ha visitato molte altre città d’Italia (Milano, Ravenna, Napoli, Verona e Genova). Quest’anno l’appuntamento con la 40ma edizione è dal 24 maggio al 2 giugno 2020.
3. Quanto costa il biglietto?
Il Fantafestival ha un biglietto per fasce orarie, del costo del biglietto di 5 € (ridotto: 4 € ).
4. Dove posso comprare i biglietti?
I biglietti possono essere acquistati direttamente al cinema, prima dell’inizio dello spettacolo. Al momento non è possibile acquistarli on-line.
5. Dove posso vedere il programma?
Il programma del Fantafestival viene pubblicato sul sito, in genere 1-2 settimane prima dell’inizio del festival.
6. In che lingua sono le proiezioni?
Le proiezioni sono o in lingua italiana o in lingua originale con i sottotitoli in italiano. Le proiezioni in lingua italiana possono avere i sottotitoli in inglese. Sul programma del festival viene sempre riportata la lingua e i sottotitoli della proiezione.
7. Come sono fatte le proiezioni?
Tutte le proiezioni del Fantafestival sono in digitale in 2K. Vengono proiettati sia DCP (Digital Cinema Package, il moderno supporto del cinema digitale), che file, utilizzando un Media Player professionale. Le proiezioni realizzate in collaborazione con la Cineteca Nazionale sono nel formato originale 35 mm.
8. Ho realizzato un film o un corto, come posso fare per mandarvelo?
Per inviare un’opera al Fantafestival è necessario utilizzare una delle nostre piattaforme: FilmFreeway e Festhome.
9. Quali premi assegna il Fantafestival?
Il Fantafestival assegna il Pipistrello d’Oro, per il miglior film e per il miglior corto.

2. Where and when does it take place?
Fantafestival is held in Rome, although occasionally it has visited many other Italian cities (Milan, Ravenna, Naples, Verona and Genoa). These are the dates of this year: May 24th – June 2nd, 2020.
3. How much does the ticket cost?
Ticket price is € 5.
4. Where can I buy tickets?
Tickets can be purchased directly at the cinema, before the show starts. At the moment it is not possible to buy tickets online.
5. Where can I see the program?
Fantafestival’s program is available on this website, usually 1-2 weeks before the festival starts.
6. In which language are the screenings?
The screenings are either in Italian or in the original language with Italian subtitles. Screenings in Italian may have English subtitles. The language and subtitles of the screening are always indicated on the festival’s programme.
7. How are the projections made?
All the projections of the Fantafestival are in digital 2K. Both DCP (Digital Cinema Package, the modern digital cinema support) and files are projected, using a professional Media Player for the files.
8. I made a movie or a short, how can I send it to you?
To send a work to the Fantafestival you need to use one of our platforms: FilmFreeway and Festhome.
9. What prizes does the Fantafestival award?
Starting from 2012, the Fantafestival awards the Golden Bat, for the best film and for the best short.
