1. What is Fantafestival?

Fantafestival is a festival dedicated to fantastic cinema, which includes science fiction, horror, fantasy and related genres (paranormal, thriller, etc …). Within the Fantafestival, in addition to feature films and shorts, there is space for TV and web series, comics, videogames, publishing, in short all those things that has to do with the fantastic.

2. Where and when does it take place?

Fantafestival is held in Rome, although occasionally it has visited many other Italian cities (Milan, Ravenna, Naples, Verona and Genoa). The exact location and dates are announced on this website usually one or two months before the festival starts.

3. How much does the ticket cost?

Ticket price is € 4.

4. Where can I buy tickets?

Tickets can be purchased directly at the cinema, before the show starts. Alternatively they can be purchased online directly on the cinema website.

5. Where can I see the program?

Fantafestival’s program is available on this website, usually 1-2 weeks before the festival starts.

6. In which language are the screenings?

The screenings are either in Italian or in the original language with Italian subtitles. Screenings in Italian may have English subtitles. The language and subtitles of the screenings are always indicated on the festival’s programme.

7. How are the screenings made?

All the Fantafestival’s screenings are in digital 2K. Both DCP (Digital Cinema Package, the modern digital cinema support) and files are used, with a professional Media Player for the files.

8. I made a movie or a short, how can I send it to you?

To send a work to the Fantafestival you need to use one of our platforms, FilmFreeway and FestHome. You can find more info in this page.

9. What prizes does the Fantafestival award?

Starting from 2012, the Fantafestival awards the Golden Bat, for the best film and for the best short. Other prize categories may be activated from year to year.
